About Fiction Improbable

Fiction Improbable is an experiment in public writing. Every day I write something and I post it here. It might be a blog post, or part of a story, or a new draft of an existing story that I’ve edited towards completion.

As of this writing, all of my work is 1st draft quality. It has a long way to go. And I hope soe of you will like what I’m doing enough to be interested in helping me. If you see problems - you don’t like the characters, I’m taking way too long to get to the plot, I’m missing a plot entirely, I used an apostrophe wrong, etc. then just comment on the post, or head over to the Contact page and send me a note. All I ask is that you try to be constructive about it. Do that, and I’ll be thrilled to take any criticism you can dish out.

The plan is everything I write and publish here will be available for free. I plan to make eBooks available when I have enough work in a polished state. These eBooks will be available for free, and I’ll also be putting them out on Amazon and other popular paid marketplaces.

About Gordon S. McLeod

In October 2011 I  started planning the Prices collection of stories, then quickly began writing The Price of Independence. I also decided to take part in NaNoWriMo 2011, and set that story aside to work on 5 others over the course of the month. I successfully defeated my Inner Editor, winning NaNoWriMo in the process.

I’ve worked in the video game industry as a designer, among other roles. Even in game design, the emphasis on story rose to the forefront. I started out designing game mechanics for programmers to implement, and ended up in charge of character and world bibles to keep game lore straight.

I’ve been writing since about the sixth grade, though my fiction work took a back seat for far too long in recent years. I attempted NaNoWriMo in November 2010, but my inner editor kept me from getting much done. Through all this reading and writing, story has come to be very paramount in my life.

Right after NaNoWriMo 2011 ended, I decided to create a proper website, and this place is the result. It launched in mid-December.
